Virginia Repossession Laws

In the state of Virginia residents should look at our free resource, which also has all relevant repossession laws and regulations about the state’s property recovery procedures.

More specifically, you should know that a repossession can only occur in Virginia, if the security interests are shown on title held of the lien-holder. Not to leave out that the plates have to remain with the borrower, and repossession is only allowed so long as there is no break in peace. Also for registration, you must call the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles at (804) 367-0063. Lastly, a Virginia Title in name of the lien holder and Repossession Affidavit (out of state) is needed for liquidation.

At MLS, our repo company, we take pride in helping clients in Virginia with repossessions on just about everything from regular use equipment to luxury real estate and cars. What's more, we will gladly process your property from the initial repo to an eventual remarketing. And, we will gladly take care of anything else for your recovered equipment requires.
